Of all the B&Bs I’ve stayed at in the Midwest, this is by far the best. It is a stunning home, beautifully decorated, and comfortably appointed. The staff is friendly, courteous, and accommodating (including honoring a special diet needs request). The breakfasts were fantastic! Overall, I’d recommend it to anyone–wonderful visit!
If you are in the Macon area and need a place to rest your weary head…….try Phillips Place Bed and Breakfast. Carol will treat you like family. The gorgeous home is filled with antiques and is a beautiful place. Worth the trip for a weekend getaway to enjoy the great hospitality Macon offers including AJ’s restaurant (famous for their batter fried lobster and homemade onion rings) and an old Ben Franklin store downtown.
Looking for a mini vacation?? 3 hours from Saint Louis, there is “The Phillip’s Place” Bed & Breakfast. Enjoy the small town atmosphere as you sip your morning java in the all-season garden room or sip and sway on the covered front porch swing. Carol Whitley Phillips is your hostess with superior, southern hospitality. You’ll feel like kin walking into this historic home.
The Phillips Place B&B in Macon was a delightful discovery. The large 1890’s home is welcoming and a well-appointed home. The innkeeper makes her guests feel so welcomed and pampers them with a delicious breakfast and comfy beds and pillows. She can also regale you with the history of Macon, which surprisingly is very interesting. Enjoy the rocking chairs and swing on the huge front porch. The streets in this charming small town are perfect for morning or evening walks.
Delightful! Delicious breakfast, comfy beds, gracious hosts and sitting on the swing on the front porch, oh my! You won’t want to leave! Close to The Royal Theater, Home of The Maples Repertory Theater. Make sure you see a show while you’re in town.
WOW! Sums up my impression of this beautiful B&B….So beautifully decorated with antiques and interesting artifacts and appointments….Our gracious hostess, Carol, is the example of a “hostess with the mostest!”…We stayed in the Ruby Suite..2 generous sized rooms with a very nice private bathroom…Delicious homemade biscuits and jam with bacon and eggs for a great start to our day after having attending the show at the Maple’s Theater the night before…You couldn’t find better accommodations anywhere…
